'Our Zoo' is based on the extraordinary true story of George Mottershead who founded Chester Zoo in the 1930s. A charismatic man with a passion for the animal kingdom, George's experience of suffering in the Great War inspired a dream to open a zoo without bars. Against all the odds, he and his family transformed a ramshackle old property into a unique institution that changed forever the way zoos keep animals. Funny, heartfelt and dramatic, 'Our Zoo' is an exhilarating tale about one family's struggle to build a new life for themselves and all creatures, great and small.
Beautifully filmed in the Yorkshire Dales '1914 All Out' mixes the heartbreak of the 1914-18 War with the romance of village life. It tells the story of two brothers and their love for the same beautiful girl, Jean whose peaceful existence is shattered by the tragic events of The Great War. It is August Bank Holiday 1914 in the picturesque Yorkshire village of East Grisewold and the villagers are celebrating with a cricket match. The tranquil setting is shattered by the outbreak of War and the first army volunteers are soon leaving for Europe including Ken Houghton. Sadly, Ken is killed at the Somme and the focus shifts to his younger brother Joe who then courts his great love, Jean. Joe finally returns from War confident that he is a better cricketer and determined to win Jean's love. "1914 All Out" was written by the playwright Colin Schindler after he saw a memorial commemorating those who had fought and died in the Great War. He wondered what the effect of the loss of life would be on a small village during and after the war.

Millions know their voices, but no one knows their names. In his compelling new film 'Twenty Feet from Stardom', award-winning director Morgan Neville shines a spotlight on the untold true story of the backup singers behind some of the greatest musical legends of the 21st century. Triumphant and heartbreaking in equal measure, the film is both a tribute to the unsung voices who brought shape and style to popular music and a reflection on the conflicts, sacrifices and rewards of a career spent harmonizing with others. These gifted artists span a range of styles, genres and eras of popular music, but each has a uniquely fascinating and personal story to share of life spent in the shadows of superstardom. Along with rare archival footage and a peerless soundtrack, 'Twenty Feet from Stardom' boasts intimate interviews with Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder, Sheryl Crow, Mick Jagger and Sting to name just a few. However, these world-famous figures take a backseat to the diverse array of backup singers whose lives and stories take center stage in the film.

Christoffer Boe's stunning debut turns romantic drama inside out. Beautifully shot on the streets of Copenhagen the film explores how life's daily decisions can take you in different directions, and when you follow one path there is inevitably another path that disappears. Alex (Nikolaj Lie Kaas) has a settled life with girlfriend Simone (Maria Bonnevie), but when by chance he meets the beautiful Aimee, an intense affair develops. Just as they plan to leave town together, everything in Alex's life begins to start, literally, falling apart. Their chance meeting results in a rollercoaster ride that neither of them could have anticipated - including inexplicable changes in their identities and relationships with those closest to them. Reconstruction is multi-layered and will keep you guessing about where the storyline is going until the very end. Remember, though, that this is a film - it is a construction.

"Army of Saviours" (Unter Bauern) is based on the memories of Marga Spiegel. In her narrative, published in 1965, she describes how courageous farmers in southern Münsterland hid her, her husband Siegfried (named Menne) and their little daughter Karin from 1943 until 1945, thus saving them from deportation to the extermination camps in the East. The film tells this story of survival with a sense for the absurd in daily life and not without the typical Westphalian humor. Without reservation, the farmers offer the refugees their protection. That this turns them into heroes would never occur to them. They are used to weathering even dangerous situations somehow, guided only by their instinct and century-old code of ethics. They risk their own lives, and, if necessary, even that of their families. There is never a discussion about friendship, reliability, humanity. In Yad Vashem the farmer's names are immortalized: Heinrich Aschof, Hubert Pentrop, Bernhard Südfeld, Heinrich Silkenböhmer, Bernhard Sickmann. The feature wants to create a memorial in honor of these silent heroes.
