Romania

When the Top Gear team received whisper that deep within Romania lurked one of the world's best driving roads they had no option but to seek it out. And to do so, they got hold of three superb convertible supercars in what became an incredible Eastern European adventure. From a noise test underneath the world's heaviest building and James's romantic encounter with the Dacia Sandero to a small accident with the locals and Jeremy in a silly hat, this trip has everything. And best of all, it culminates with three wonderful cars enjoying absolute petrolhead nirvana.

Jeremy, Richard and James head to the United States to see if the Americans still make any good cars. Unfortunately, there's a small error with their visas and the US immigration authorities will only let them in if they promise not to do anything entertaining. So, with serious faces on they set off on a proper old fashioned muscle car road trip to the amazing Bonneville Salt Flats. Along the way Richard becomes an amateur aerodynamicist, Jeremy discovers a strange security problem with one of their cars, and Captain Slow discovers a hitherto hidden love of fast driving in what turns out to be a dusty, dirty slice of pure car lover's heaven.

Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May travel to Vietnam and are told to travel the entire length of the country in just eight days, thereby achieving what the American military failed to do in ten years. But first they must each buy some suitable transport for the trip.

Despite having several million Dong in their pockets, this proves to be rather less money than they thought - especially in one of the most expensive car markets in the world. Nonetheless, the boys are resourceful and, with the wheels eventually sorted, they set off on one of the most spectacular and incredible road trips Top Gear has ever attempted.

This terrific suspense movie contains a marvellous series of ingenious plot twists and multiple climaxes, superbly wrought by screenwriter Alistair MacLean, with a super cast headed by Clint Eastwood and Richard Burton.

As the name suggests, 'Top Gear: Best Of British' is a celebration of all manifestations of Finnish folk dancing from the haunting raisikipi and the delicate kestipilla to the bewitching majesty of the runkiapunkipilliapu in all its many forms. Not really.

Best Of British is actually a look back at some of Top Gear's finest encounters with the very best of British cars. And sometimes the very worst. Within this lavishly crafted plastic box you will find over three hours of the great British motor cars and mucking about including an Aston DB9 racing a train to the south of France, a celebration of the Jensen Interceptor, a 1949-style battle between a Jaguar XK120, a Vincent Black Shadow motorcycle and a steam train, and the infamous British Leyland challenge. There's also a toppling Reliant, a roaring Eurofighter, a tiny Peel P50, an even tinier Clarkson P45, a Mini racing a bobsleigh, and the presenters' flag-waving celebration of all that is great about car-building in Blighty, ending with a spectacular, tear-jerking line-up of British-made metal on The Mall.
