When commercial director Paul (Peter Fonda) plunges into a crisis after the breakdown of his marriage, he asks self-styled guru John (Bruce Dern), an advocate of LSD, to guide him on his first 'trip'.

After scoring some acid from their friend Max (Dennis Hopper), Paul enters a mind-altering realm of beauty and terror, the like of which he has never known before.

More tee-hee sex English style as a no-hoper moper goes from one job to another meeting on the way numerous women determined to get him into bed. As usual in these highly believable films, cravats and flared underwear prevail.
