A slow paced, but well acted tale of two complete misfits, brought together by a dating site, one has an alterior motive the other is looking for a wife - they both share one thing - that they are both emotionally lost - it's a charming and heartwarming little film - love in climate of flat fish and trawlers
Japanese films always punch hard and this one certainly gets you to question who is the actual villain of the piece. It kept me guessing right up until the end, questioning what was unraveling . It's s far from perfect film but it's more intelligent than most Hollywood thrillers - give it a go and decide for yourself.
I really must stop watching 'found footage' it just annoys me , almost as much as the characters in this film. They are like those loud teenagers at the back of the bus, who think they're amusing and the whole world wants to engage with their life ... or death in this instance.
Improvisation in the right hands can be amazingly creative, however this was just excruciatingly tedious - in fact I'm dismayed that these are supposed trained actors - if you watch the extras on this DVD they appear vacuous in real life.
The story line was weak- a mash up between the worst 1970s Carry On film, you know the time when they went down hill, Rosemary's Baby (without the baby) and Hostel - jokes about Swingers parties, Big brother audition reels, pig masks and shaky hand held camera work try to entertain but frankly there are more scares in your quarterly gas bill!
