This is undoubtedly a well made and acted film, but it is also not a comedy, not even a dark comedy (in my opinion). It is yet another film portraying the suffering of the Jewish and non Jewish populations in Nazi occupied Europe. If you want a film about life under Nazi occupation then I'd recommend this, but if you want any hint of comedy then look elsewhere.
