Fantastic - Mads Mikkelson brilliant as ever
This film gained so many awards and it's not hard to see why. Tough, uncompromising in its occasional brutality and yet very touching also. A really good historical movie. Excellent performances all round especially from the leads. I would heartily recommend.

A beautiful story of first love.
I loved it .... I confess I thought it was going to be a story of older guy seduces younger guy (not having read the book), but was pleasantly surprised to find that the seduction was mutual or if anything, slightly the other way.....a very interesting slant on a younger/older person dynamic, regardless of gender.
I thought the two leads were perfect, the chemistry was amazing, the doubts and fears of Oliver were real given the age of the day, my fears watching them (it's set in 1981) were unsettling..... I felt I wanted so much for them both. I just loved it.
And the dad's chat with his son at the end....oh my god. To have such a father. One can only wish. X
