A disappointing follow-up to one of the great TV series of the 1990s. Lots of cliché, a drab script and a cast going through the motions. Only really worth watching for nostalgia and to look at Jack Davenport.

The Snapper is a gritty, very funny family drama focussing on the unthinkable in Ireland; an unmarried mother. Colm Meaney and Brendan Gleeson shine particularly in a good cast.
