Love a good horror film (or a so bad it's good horror film). This doesnt fit into either category. The acting is bad but it's the story that played so seriously but features a terrible storyline and pointless characters with no personality. Has this really what Hellraiser has become.
This film wasnt good at all. The acting was ok (ashmore overacting at times) but this felt more like an episode of a bad cop drama. The plot wasnt really explained terribly well and at times came across like someone having a first attempt at making a cop/serial killer movie.
This was an unusual little film. It was creepy and engaging but when it built up to the climax it kind of ended. It was a missed opportunity as this could of been better.
2 stars for first half which built up well.
First couple episodes it felt quite all over the place but glad I stuck with it.
It's no masterpiece but it's a fairly decent first series. The acting is decent and the characters are all interesting.
The dounle end twist is good and leaves a set up perfcetly for season 2.
Appreciate that the 5 stars are likely fans of the band. However my honest opinion was I wasnt captivated. Maybe as I only know 3 or 4 songs from talking heads it wasnt aimed at me.
I tried to get into it and give 1 star for songs I knew and another star as I do like the Broadway style of doing a concert however at times did feel like he was going through the motions.
If you are a fan I imagine you will give a higher mark but afraid for a non fan theres very little to engage.
I have been looking forward to this film ever since the great reviews from critics and the trailer which looked really interesting.
However I feel like I'm missing something. I get the story and get the message but I just didnt really engage with it.
The acting was decent enough and the religious imagery was great but the plot felt very drawn out and as others have said this felt more of a drama and less of a thriller or horror that this was marketed as.
I guess it had high hope and felt a bit let down.
Added the 2nd star for the ending
I admit I didnt know too much about The Pogues or Shane other than the fairytale of New York song. I found this a really interesting look at someone who likes to do things his way and a true Irish singer songwriter. I may now be converted to listen to more of their music.
Really enjoyed this film. It wont win awards but it's a moving true story of a mother who is involved in a freak accident trying to copy with the aftermath and rebuilding her life thanks to her family and an injured magpie.
Great acting and moving story.
This started as an interesting low budget horror film but sadly it never felt like it got going. Theres some odd moments that work but at times resorts to the usual jump scenes and the ending almost felt a bit of an anticlimax.
Its worth a watch due to its length but wont be an instant classic in the horror genre.
The first half hour sets the scene well but the characters are fairly undeveloped. There is a lack of scared and all feels a bit amateurish. Tobin Bell is wasted in this film and deserves something better.
Becky is a decent watchable revenge flick with decent performances but sadly lacks anything new. The film is most likely to be remembered for the gory death scenes and Kevin james playing someone that isnt a likeable funny guy. A one time watch for me.
One of the best shows over christmas/new years 2020. The first episode takes a while to settle but from there I was hooked.
The acting is great from all involved and the shocking true life tale is both disturbing and gripping.
I would highly recommend.
I would probably give it 3.5 out of 5.
This was a massive improvement on the first series which was rather forgettable. The cast and the storyline was great and really got into it.
Decent ITV drama for a change.
This is one of those detective hunting a serial killer films that adds nothing new but is still engaging until the end. The acting is decent and the killer is fairly creepy. It wont go down as a classic in its genre but it wont bore you either.
Nice concept but this film is lacking in any character development or likeability. It tries for the quirky vibe but is fairly standard and follows the usual routes. Not for me I guess.
