Truly a hidden gem for me: loved it! What a ride!! Exciting, clever, and laugh-out-loud funny to boot. Btw, worth noting that, despite the English-speaking cast listed under "Voiced By" above, the English-speaking sound track is not on the DVD sent out by Cinema Paradiso, i.e., the movie's in French and comes with subtitles.

Interestingly, despite running at 150mins, this is in fact the full version. The deleted 7 minutes are, infact, an artefact of the PAL to NTSC conversion: the Americans see a slower version which runs at 157 mins.

Very good movie but avoid this particular DVD, as it feels like a 480p vhs transfer: blurry, muted colours, and clunky subtitles. @CinemaParadiso, please replace this disk with the remastered 720p version instead.

All the other reviews in this website dis the movie due to the DVD's quality. The Bluray version is now available at cinema paradiso, and it's widescreen (no pan-n-scan), the bw intro is clear, the sound is the original italian, but you can chose to have the dubbed american version is you wish. There's also two 1.5hr documentaries.
