Seriously Lesley Manville has to be one of the greatest actresses of her era - I've seen in a variety of roles and she never delivers a dub performance, it this film she gets right to the core of cancer and how it affects her husband - she never over does anything - subtle and profound in her everything she does .... plus Liam Neeson is excellent ....

Anyone thinking this is anything like the TV series then think again, boring, predictable, lacking any meaning or substance .... this is truly a waste of time and shows how a good story can be ruined by film makers ... why make something this bad?

Don't waste a minute of your time watching this drivel.

It appeared that the majority of the film was shot on a budget .... zero amount paid for lighting ... majority of the film seemed to have been shot it the dark .... first 30 minutes were okay ..... rest of it was just totally dull .... it lumbered on and on with heavy dialogue and clunky acting ..... great if you need help getting to sleep.

No-one comes off lightly in this film, the star is aloof and unpredictable, her husband borders on being a bully, her lover lies and her Mother is selfish .... this had the makings of an excellent film but unfortunately you can't feel anything for any of the characters .... the script is lumpy and at times bizarre ... I wondered why she was so miserable .... husband worked hard, she had two children, a lovely house, her health yet she was as miserable as sin .... surely she could have pursued her own interests during the day ..... I was always hoping she was going to spring to life but she was empty - a bit like how I felt at the end of this dreary saga.

Excellent acting but a totally unbelievable plot - I was bored to tears. It certainly doesn’t make you want to visit Jersey.

For once a film from my list that I thoroughly enjoyed - how refreshing to see the lead taken by two "seniors" - yes it was a bit far fetched but it was touching and the acting by the 2 leads excellent ..... I'd love to tour the USA in my dotage like that .... I watched this till the end something I've rarely done with the trash I've had on my list before

Had great hopes for this film but sadly they came to nothing ...... I was bored to tears and even the wonderful Lesley Manville couldn't this production .... it was indulgent and dare I say it purely for DDL fans who may like to just look at him ...... I literally could have fallen asleep watching this.

Loved everything about this film - the characters, the acting, the story and most of all the beautiful scenery.

I made sure I hadn't read any reviews or spoilers before and just sat back and enjoyed ......

For once a film that I didn't stop watching before the end.

I thought with such a stellar cast this would be so much better - I was bored to tears and switched off (literally) way before the end .....

A really interesting story and great to see Kevin Costner again as Molly's father; a lot of the poker jargon went over my head which made understanding the film hard.

At times it was far too technical and I was bored ..... could have done with more insight into the characters rather than the snippets provided.

It was enlightening to see the greed that encapsulates these rich people - my views on the rich folk has not altered.

Don't go out of your way to watch this.

Perhaps I'm missing the whole point of this film but Oscar winner .... there were parts of this film when I had to control my laughter it was that "weird" - it was a bit like ET for adults .... I'm sure the whole Russia/gay/black story had meaning but it was just too surreal for words .... thank goodness I did not pay good money to see this in a cinema .... acting was good but apart from that it was in my opinion far-fetched, fantasy drivel with a hint of violence and sexuality. Do not waste your time ..... unless you like odd films.

If I was around someone like Daphne I'd run a mild, selfish, self-absorbed, nasty girl .... not one redeeming quality in this poor excuse for a human being. God knows why Geraldine James took a part in this awful film - one can only think that she has a large mortgage to pay and there wasn't much stage work around .... hopefully she will bury this in her CV.

I don't even understand why a film like this was made .... give it a wide berth.

Having spent time in Florida and seen this kind of living first hand this film was so well made. What's sad is that families like this live in the proximity of the money making machine that is Disney ...... and how ironic that the ending was of the Magic Kingdom.

The acting from all was sublime, a very depressing film but one that needed to be made.
