Tv Adaptation of classic Victorian melodrama. But the contempoary relationships- including coersive control - made this a gripping watch. Hunker down for a good story - scary, tragic, tense, touching, happy , all in their turn.
Disappointing - having been brought up on Raymond Burr’s Perry Mason! Not inspired to finish watching this modern spinoff - little in common with the original version.
A mother’s perspective on space travel, and the emotional tug between work and kids. Vventure, risk taking, v. Being there, and returning safely for the children. Loved the last frames showing how many real mothers have been through this dilemma. The little girl acting the daughter was amazing. Really got into the film & enjoyed it. Memorable. Highly recommended!
Very watchable tale, interesting structure. Beautiful wildlife and scenery , and touching story which drew us in. We really enjoyed this film.
A really good film, storyline, characters etc. But you realised from the beginning that all was not going to end in smiles. The graphic scenes of capture & imprisonment were pretty harrowing, especially as you knew it was based on fact. A very interesting portrayal of brave women during the war.
Quirky, fun film, addressing profound environmental issues. Billed as a thriller, it’s more a human drama, clever twists, amusing touches, and hide-behind the- sofa suspense. Other pluses- a glimpse of Icelandic life; great panoramas of dramatic landscape, and enjoyed the director’s discussion in the ‘extras’.
Each dis tinctive character is a gem. Windswept Danish beaches, varied story lines, amusing chatacters, a bit of love interest. Settle down on the sofa for a good nights entertainment.
Not up to BBC drama standards. Characters and dialogue did not engage me. The frequent sex scenes seemed superfluous- just thete to keep the watchers- they had the oposite effect on me. Disappointing.
We are Almodovar fans, but I gave up on this slow, depressing film. I guess you need to be in the right mood for it
