After seeing so many bish bash bosh films, with special computer effects etc, is quite nice to see little BBC film with actual people walking and talking. Emily Blunt is always worth watching.......ever seen the blonde Sky reporter, in USA mostly of late, Amanda Walker.........has some similarities.....should be in films, wasted at Sky........but maybe too bright for that form of media.....money be better though!
Bit of Jeremiah Johnson/ The Trap, with more documentary reality. If do not like realistic violence, then probably not up your street.
The scene with the bear is incredibly realistic............
Why not just do another Superman, and then another Batman? Ben is not intense enough for the role. Bale and Keaton have that crazy focus thing going on.
Long way from Dark Knight..........
How many odd super heroes were there in Marvel? Seems like quite a few!
If you like the genre, then will go with this one. Is certainly a bit different for sure. Guy must have been taking some illegal substance when thought of this.
Rattles along OK and Douglas still operating.....even has the strange vocal inflection of his dad............
Cannot recall seeing the first film with K Reeves back in 90's. Folks say was better, in its day. This went along keeping interest throughout, so no bad thing.......
Will probably guess the final outcome about half way through. Not exactly entertaining this one. The twist at end is quite clever, but has been done before, and K Reeves has done better, but jogs along enough not to turn off.
Actually lot better than hoped. Arnie looks like a good actor against Stallone, who only ever made 2 films effectively.....lots of follow ups though, and way rich, so he should worry..........Brubaker a possible fore-runner. True story run up very well by Robert Redford.....believe just re-made...........the warden who went into his new jail first, to see what was going on!
Remember seeing Ott and wild willie on Whistle Test. Actually met him at the Robin a few years ago for a pint. Still doing his mad stage thing with a step ladder.
Actually great bloke, and genuinely still switched on after all these years.
For me was a great film, but i am biased i expect.
Based extremely loosely on something that happened.....like many films appear to be now. Bill has some fun, although his attraction to women is somewhat stretching it, as is the stunning looking Goldie Hawn daughter as a prostitute working flat out in a caravan in 45 degrees..........wishful thinking by the director methinks...........she looks more like a glamour queen from Sunset Boulevard!
Drags along a bit. No ups and downs, just flat-line really. Michael does his intense thing, but is a long way from Birdman.
Alas my hearing not good, so missed lots of the clever dialogue. Maggie does amazing work, yet again, and the Bennett actor is well up to it. Small cameo at very end by Bennett himself was nice touch.
Not a Hollywood glamour job, but nice to see some proper acting once in a while!
Tom starting to look like Plasticine replica a bit now. Going very putty in the facial department. Still does the job though. Rylance is creepy as the spy..not sure if he is acting, or is like that anyway?
Very slow by todays standards but see Spy Who Came in from the Cold with Richard Burton. That has the drear, grey feel, of Berlin when the wall went up.........
If liked Zoo 1 then will like Zoo 2, and the reverse applies. Is a bit better to be fair, as you can spend time spotting all the cameo folk percolating throughout the extravaganza. Bit of light fun.
More of the same format as 1. Think Ice Cube could handle a way better part/film. Not as good as Bad Boys by miles.
The idea of Mark Strong and the Baron in the same film is, or was, a thing of theory only....but here they are. After a bottle of wine, it is even more surreal than can imagine!
As a reflection on Grimsby, it is pretty murky. Needless to say the Baron is the lowest possible denominator by a country mile.
Is so gruesome it does actually have a funny aspect. One needs to be a bit distorted to fully appreciate it perhaps, but at least it is different.......very different! Be warned.........
