Could not see the point really. Not sufficiently clever or original to warrant the electricity, so never got past half hour..............
Bit pedestrian. John just wandering about. Maybe a true story, but no dynamics. From Paris With Love was so much better is no comparison. Forger was way better as well.
Hats off to all the foster folk. They are few people who can cope with their own kids, let alone someone else's, often with major problems. Apparently based on fact, and is OK to spend hour and half on. Quite harmless and predictable.
Will can act. He can. However, he has to be kept well away from anything to do with the film that includes script. Another third form self indulgence, which has ruled most of his films really.
Step Brothers worked because he did have some discipline, and story line, and the two boys were dynamic without being totally OTT.
This, again, just explores all forms of human function, disfunction, and objectionable language and phrase.
After 20 minutes, where i hoped it may suddenly pick up......it didn't. So i help save the eco system by turning off.
Not usually so critical of a film, but when a golden opportunity has been thrown away, money wasted, and when Will is capable of doing quite good things, is a lemon.
The three ladies are very solid right through the film. The set shots/rooms are first rate. The historic skeleton is pretty accurate, according to the experts.....with some innuendo woven in as storyline of course.
Should be a 5, at least a 4, but the odd swing into objectionable-behaviour-for-the-hell-of-it, and the vaguely comic undertow.....plus the super good teeth....makes a solid 3.5
Worth seeing just for 93 year old Dick Van Dyke in amazing form, plus Angela Lansbury as well!
To be fair I found it boring, but wife liked it. Not sure if a bit slow for kids, and do they like so much music? Not tried it out on any yet.
Is well done though. Blunt does well singing. Replacement for Van Dyke is very competent, but no match for the megga dynamics that was Dick.
The nice normal family live in Paddington type family house in London....circa 5Mill in todays money!
Quite an old film now, but still quite up to date in content. De Vito commentates throughout, and holds a good progression. Managed to keep more interest than many of the modern films, and no computer graphics!
Along with Elf, this is a film to watch maybe alternate Xmas holls. No swearing or overtly objectionable instances, so all the family can watch the downfall of the family festivities.
Probably not see Spacey again very soon, which is a shame. Irons does well in the company as well, and you could not miss the Spock guy.
Good illustration of how the banks got it wrong, again, and how they probably will again.............some good work done by most all folks in acting dept.
Great little film. Cluzet does superb job. Is understandable sharp, but retains his wit. Think has already had a re-make, but not sure why, and doubt will match this version of events.
Brendan does a good film. In Bruges, Its all about Harry, Gangs of New York etc. Is a big Irishman, with way with him. Good fun and good story.
Rarely get a film tickle along with no exploding livers, that maintains pace and interest. Colin and Bren are great match. Ralph is spot on as well. Brilliant photography and direction, of course, does help a bit
Off its type, is one of the best. Menacing and well photographed. Tommy does his thing, and Javier trumps everything. Is hard to take your eyes off him.
Lots of expensive actors in this one. Disney likes to play safe. Well made modern version of an older theme. Kids will enjoy it i think. Poor old Keira having to hold that squeaky voice all the way through!
Old film for sure, but still bit of fun. Bette in full throttle mode. De Vito always puts everything into it.
