Another tour of the Americsn past, well argued and illustrated.
For English audiences the treatment may be overlong and detailed, and perhaps I would rate as three stars for those not seriously interested in the period or the issues.

A compelling story bringing some scandi-noir elements to the English police procedural enriched by an emphasis on the impact on the community. Tennant and Coleman good leads with strong supporting cast.
Did not see this on tv but glad not to have frequent interruptions for itv advertising.
Quirky, compelling saga of 60 years of German experience told through the lives of families in a rural village off the beaten track. The first half (covering 1920-1945) has remained vividly in the memory.
