Watched as double bill with "The Wait". Mindless and unlikely violence with a glance at justification via cliche of "big corporations bad, rebels good". Oddly China a good guy, but they paid much of the film's cost so not surprising. If you've seen Teminator don't bother unles you need a Scalett Johansson fix. Admittedly she has better legs than Arni.
It's as bad an example of an action movie as was the "The Wait" an equally bad example of the explortion of grief via a pointless plot, long lingering shots (of grief of course) and Juliette Binoche presumbly thanking her lucky stars thatat least she didn't have many lines to learn and only had to look sad.
At the end of the evening a regret that I hd missed an opportnity to re-arrange a kitchen cupboard or two and get a feeing of not actually wasting my time.
See my review of its odd evening companion (my fault, two bad choices for a double bill!!!)" Ghost in the Shell". Almost equallyas bad as each other, but on opposite ends of the "action/internal angst" spectrum.
Maybe showing its age and its over strong stylistic links to the Bochco original police drama Hill Street Blues (what a breakthrough that was) but still a remarkable production. However, either I'm getting deaf (not impossible!) or modern tv's don't have good sound quality, but I couldn't follow most of the dialogue. For this fly on the wall approach high quality sound is essential. Maybe not a problem if subtitles available, but they aren't. So, sadly, sent back with only a few great mages to remember it by.
