Well made but depressing and bleak. Reminded me of Ingrid Bergman's The Seventh Seal in many ways. Difficult to watch and left me feeling miserable.
It is long, boring and has vile language. Who was this aimed at??? Comic book movies have certainly sunk to new depths.
Depressing, bleak, grim, nightmarish. Two loathsome characters locked up together in a lighthouse...that's about it. Maybe in different times I could have appreciated it but it's not what I want to watch in the current climate
A film so terrible and dumb that it beggars belief Tom Wilkinson and Andy Serkis agreed to do it (Ruby Rose...well, let's just say she is unconvincing in her role as a 'terrorist'). Terrible acting, poor dialogue, badly put together...definitely aimed at the lowest common denominator.
Don't listen to the cynics, this is a good action packed thrill ride that doesn't take itself too seriously. The acting is great, locations (a return to Ace Chemicals!) and it fits in nicely with the DCEU.
A very unrealistic portrayal of drug abuse. Sickly sweet, shamelessly sentimental and mediocre. This one is drug-abuse lite, strictly for those people who have romanticised ideas about real life. Asides from one scene this has nothing to do with the grim, unrelenting reality of addiction. If you want the truth about addiction watch Nil By Mouth.
Time may have taken the edge from The War Game but it remains disturbing nonetheless. Much like the later TV drama Threads, The War Game takes an uncompromising look at nuclear war. Still very relevant today when, by and large, political leaders remain quiet about the earth shattering, humanity-ending result of these horrific weapons.
One of the most sensational films I have ever seen. Powerful, gripping and lovingly made. Not worth missing.
