Great french comedy, silly yes, but thats what farce is all about. Clear straight forward sub-titles, lots of laughs for the whole family, acting is very good, it's played straight which adds to the comedy. Recommended for comedy fans of the french cinema.
They don't make them like this very often - thank goodness.
We are witness to a lonely depressed couple who are forced together to go on a prize holiday, but they have nothing to say to each other so we soon realize why they are lonely, while they watch all around them busy and having fun - or at least misery as the case may be.
Like all lonely people the world over (and there are a lot of them) they want / need companions to help them cope with life, but are often taken advantage of when they are seen to be desperate, as the leading character nearly is by her sister.
It's well acted, well filmed, but how the script attracted the cash to warrant all the time money and effort involved in making this movie is a mystery to me. Your own life will seem to have a whole lot more fun and meaning after watching this - I hope !
Light weight no real story just a collection of disjointed events which make for an unfulfilling film, still not sure what its was all about.
