There is great depth and sadness to this tale of love gone wrong. The love story, told in flashbacks reveals the potential for a happy future for the two rather lost young people. Through lack of knowledge, the innocence of the times, and the character^s own flaws, things go painfully wrong on the wedding night and neither of them are able to work through it. There is a lot going on in this film, some things are not quite resolved,. Is Flo asexual, damaged by abuse from her father or just scared and confused, in need of sensitivity and understanding. The sadness of their lost future together hangs heavy as it's made clear just how much one moment changed there lives. A refreshingly unusual story, beautifully made, and acted,
I enjoyed this much more than I expected. Terrific visuals, dancing and music. The cast were fab, especially Hugh Jackman and Zac Efron. Feel good stuff. Story is very predictable but that doesn't really matter as it's very entertaining.
I enjoyed this film. It's almost a tale of love conquers all, and people get what they deserve in the end. Quirky, sometimes hard to view, interspersed with scenes of great beauty, visually lovely to watch. A little confusing in places because you have to read subtitles, some humour and a lot of charm. Well worth watching.
This is very enjoyable and on a par with the previous version. Well acted and charming. A wonderful warm story for a cold Sunday afternoon.
Heart warming story about hard work and celebrating dreams coming true rather than winning. Refreshing concept with warm humour. Avoids slap stick and has some amazing filming that makes you realise how dangerous and scary a sport this is. The extras are worth viewing. Interesting that the film makers were not allowed to use the type of skis used in the 80s as too dangerous.
I really enjoyed this adaptation of Jane Austen s unfinished book. We will never know how the author herself would have developed but it had the makings of something very special and new from her other works. This film brings it to life very enjoyably and is superbly cast and acted. Great fun.
We discovered Hinterland whilst staying in a holiday cottage in Aberystwyth. We were hooked by series one and the atmospheric shots of the places we had visited. The stories are good and show an interesting perspective on the traditional detective. This series feels darker than the first. I am hoping our lead detective gets some luck in later episodes, he sure deserves it. Hooked. If you have not seen it and like a good detective story, get the first series. Recemmended.
