Less morbid and funnier than expected

I had put off watching this film, as I assumed from the subject matter that it would not be at all uplifting.
However, its combination of tragedy and comedy was gripping to the end, with great characters - Woody Harrelson was superb.
The ending did leave you guessing a little, but all the potential options were pretty conclusive.
