Native Americans, the First Nation of the North Americas, deserve a whole lot more than they have now, a much larger voice, attention, political influence much more presence in POSITIVE media.

This positions itself as part of the solution but is it? Isnt it Big Media yet again just poo stiring. Setting races against each other yet again. Yes monster industrialisation over development and of course rampant over population is the problem, but its ordinary people who get the blame in this type of narative.

I mostly object to the unneccesarily creepy scene where the father is grieving and says he doesnt know any of the ceremonies, cos theres no one left to teach him. This is just not true. I know from anecdotal and first hand experience, every tribe has pow wows (yes thats what they are called) and groups of tribes also meet. Each Canadian tribe takes weeks in the summer to live on the land together and there is copius writen and recorded info on shamanic practices (there is amazing morphic resonance in shamanic practices from thousands of years ago all over the world from celtic english to mongolian to african) .

Its time to recognise unhelpful media and call it out.

Hey ladies, dont go on a fun exciting characterfull budget backpacking holiday with your friends, dont have any adventures or stay in cheap hostels.

Go to a five star hotel with your parents or husband and be waited on and stay safe in your padded cell of luxuary.......

It would have been really good had they concentrated on the positivity of his great acievements.

But for some bizarre reason it became a negative moan fest from his mother and girlfriend. Ok so his mother is worried, so dont interview her then! No other film about great sportsmen go on and on and on about his family.

And his girlfriend knew who he was when she met him, so why get the violins out again and again, i really feel sorry for him. These people should be writing dreadful soap operas somewhere!

Yet again idiot "superstar" actors ruin what was a great book and radio adaptation.

Overly wierd and confusing.

Joyless poirot impersonation, Branagh is overrated in general. (Perhaps his stage work is great?) One of the reasons people love agatha christie is the glowing wholesomeness and sensibleness of the good people confronted by horrible crimes, but this felt like everyone was compromised.

And its false advertising to say its set in Venice! That was the only reason i watched it.

It would have been far more useful to do a run down of 20 best . This was such a frantic pace that i dont remember the name of a single film i want to see. Epic Fail.

I love black and white films like this but i tend to fast forward alot, this is so watchable and so relaxing you dont need to.

A Lovely languid watching experience. Dick Powell is perfect, he probably was very famous at the time but he definately deserves more attention now.

At first i found it a bit meh, but it grows on you. I always like the contrast of extraordinary characters having a normal life, they really achieve ordinariness in a light hearted, nice guy way in their day job.

Super-Cosy/Exciting is an underused spectrum. Im very suprised that netflix says it has mostly male fans as there is nothing here to put off women, and there are alot of superhero things i dont like.

love the dark, rainy, low lit cinnematography and The acting is suprisingly authentic and real considering this is fantasy, not an easy thing to achieve.

Great premis. Could have been a bit snappier, splice in a bit of the chaos of Nathan Barley and it would be perfect. With Big Art you can afford to milk the pretentious characters even more.

people laugh at harry potter for being so dreadful but this is just as bad. He too has just taken an encyclopedia of the occult, thrown it up in the air, writen down a few exotic sounding words cobbled together this drivel. It isnt empowering to pretend that children can OR SHOULD comprehend, let alone take on evil at its source. Its a very bizzare media habit at the moment to super-empower weak and powerless people.

August Boal had interesting theory that Aristotolian catharsis was a very bad thing for society, it relieves people of their revolutionary passion, like people who talk about politics at dinner.
