The story was poor and not believable. It was boring. But I am not a fan of science fiction or horror. Even so I liked The Walking Dead, and I suppose this film was a little influenced by that but not nearly so good. Best avoided really. I can’t think why it was so highly rated.
My husband and I watch together and we have realised that quite a good test of a film is if he manages to stay awake. Well in this I am afraid he didn’t. So I was alone while watching and I didn’t hate if nor did I love it. I think it was a little sentimental, and in my opinion that detracts from it. The visits to his friend, although admirable in that of course he should visit, were there to make us cry, but I did not. The scenes of horse training were quite interesting.
Didn’t watch it all. Too annoying and just not worth wasting the time. The husband writer made decisions no sane person would.
This film about a man facing death through terminal cancer is not depressing. It is about how he goes about arranging his departure and especially who will look after his beloved dog. He is fortunate in his friends. One old friend visits him from Canada and supports him with love and with cash. It is amusing and life affirming and I recommend it.
I thought I would not be able to watch this. For some time I covered my eyes as I knew what was coming. It did. And I kept watching. I saw in one review that it is an anti war film. I am not sure it is. I think it a film to show us not to hate. That the hated enemy is not evil but vulnerable and human and the same flesh and blood as we. It is very well done and I recommend it.
