The central character is so unlikeable I didn't care less what happened to him and Josh Brolin also does a poor job of potraying him. The dialogue is often awful and even the usually reliable Samuel L Jackson gives a lackluster performance of a stereotypical villian, although to be fair, he has a small part and not much to do. The guy who plays the main villian is just laughable. Never seen him before, and hope never to again. Also completely unbelievable that an overweight alcoholic can become so good a fighting just from watching tv! I know it's just a movie, but it's nonsensical. Elizabeth Olsen is the only one who an walk away from this with any credibility.. Don't waste your time. Appalling film.
Awful acting. Atrocious dialogue. Ridiculous story lines and irritating characters. Haven't got a good thing to say about it and I'm a fan of superheroes in comics and on film and tv, but I couldn't sit through this garbage. Do yourself a favour and watch Legion instead.
Was curious to see this, but hadn't got high expectations, so I was pleasantly surprised. A good story, well told and well acted (mostly). Not a fan of Rosamund Pike, and she was the film's weakness for me. Also thought that the role of the key bad guy was under written and he ultimately had little to do. All in all though, and enjoyable film.
I know this film is popular and has done well, but I just didn't find it funny. Felt the writers thought vulgarity by itself is funny, it's not. I've no problem with films that are make non-PC jokes, are vulgar and sexually explicit, but if it's a comedy, you need to be funny. Often I'll laugh till I'm crying at juvenile vulgar humour, but this one didn't hit the funny bone for me.
