I don't know how true to life this story of ballet dancer Nureyev is, but it's a powerful drama. The performances are good and the characters are not excessively black and white but presented in the round with all their flaws and strengths. The concluding scenes are gripping. Excellent piece of work.
Very enjoyable. The two leading parts were played well and brought out the differing characters of Laurel & Hardy, in an unexpected way for those who only knew them through their film roles. Stan comes across as the driven, highly professional leader and Ollie as a happy-go-lucky, charming, but feckless partner. Their wives are well played too, again as two very different characters. The reconstructed comedy routines worked well and the 1950s settings were convincing. Well worth a watch.
