Financed by a kickstarter campaign this film contains some outstanding rugby footage in a story featuring a London gay rugby team, relationships and infidelity. Confidently directed and acted this film punches way above its weight and the end result remarkable given budget , however the storyline feels stretched at 2hrs 14mins - a cut to 90 mins would make an improvement IMHO.
Rated 3.5/5 A beautifully paced delicate study of grief and the desire not to let a person go - to be near those associated with the deceased. Fine performances and directed with confidence.
A meticulous study of a dying "Divine" King and an rich observation on how basic medical knowledge was in the early 18th Century. Slow in pace but rich in detail.
In my view even a substandard Woody Allen film is still watchable but this is much better. Not creme de la creme WA but delightfully crafted and shot with some excellent performances. Gentle, amusing and wistful - I'd rate it 3.5 stars and for WA fans definitely worth a watch.
