How can you not like a woman who talks to a wall and a rock? I read the okay to my 11 year old and she got it, it's just amazing that a man could write so brilliantly from a woman's point of view.
I really do not understand what the fuss is about, yes Clare foy is brilliant at depicting the young queen, but apart from that there is nothing compelling about this drama. We sat through three episodes waiting for the script to pick up, but couldn't take anymore, and can only conclude that people's interest in it is built on the modern taste for voyerism, or what they think is voyerism as so much is fiction. The script is dull, the narrative thin, life is too short and I have better things to do with my life than watch characters that resemble real people drifting through history however beautifully they drift and however well the actors do their job.
This film was highly disappointing, the score, which should have lifted the rather predictable and boring narrative, was like lift music, Let it Go in Frozen has more to be admired! This failure of music originality and verve is made even more ironic by the main characters love of jazz! Ha! How could a character who loves jazz sing such wet, lack lustre songs! Not enough dancing, not enough of the narrative drive, we were either in scenes too long once having been given the message or sciences or aspects of the characters life that were engaging - Emma stones excellent audition pieces - weren't given enough space. Even my eleven year old could predict what was going to happen next and after an hour we had to send it home we were so bored! Why does everyone love this film so much?????
Really enjoying this, good main character well played as ever and interesting story. Well worth watching if you like mysteries.
I am sad to say that this film seemed to have learnt nothing from the first. The actors were the same, the dialogue stilted and poorly written, I could see it was going to be as ridiculous and badly made as her first film. It is sad because I want lesbian directors to make good films, but this one doesn't.
Terrible script, pretty awful acting, characters u don't care about and sad for a lesbian film to be so embarrassingly awful. Avoid.
Really enjoyed this matter of fact approach to abortion, it was funny and moving and I always like to see matter of fact depiction of lesbian lives and feminist approach to women's lives. I laughed plenty and at the end felt moved.
