I loved the first Blade Runner movie but it was 35 years ago and our expectations of movies have changed immeasurably. I proved this when I said that my son and I (aged 15) should watch the original before watching this latest one.... he fell asleep and I realised that my memory of a great movie was more about how the movie measured at the time rather then comparing it to today's movies.
This movie is better than the original but still not great (my wife and son walked out part way through).
So, if you were an 'original' fan than you have to watch it but don't expect it blow your socks off...
I think it would have been a good movie in the directors head and I suspect a great book but as a movie it is just utterly pointless.
I will explain the plot so you don't waste 90 minutes of your life...
A guy dies, arises from the hospital gurney wearing the white sheet that was draped over him (comical if nothing else)... He hangs around his/their house until it is destroyed (his wife has long gone). He then 'haunts' until a modern building is built over his house and he then appears to be in the future i.e. he has 'haunted' the building for 100s of years. He then jumps of the top of building and is back at where his house will be built in the 1800's. He sits around with a family of settlers until they are killed by (you assume) Indians. He then ends up back in his house when his former self is alive... He eventually digs out the piece of paper that his wife left and promptly stops being a ghost. I can only assume the letter said goodbye, that she loved him blah blah and this was enough to stop the ghost haunting the house.
A truly pointless movie, staggers me that somebody put up the budget for it.
Good to see James Bond, Magic Mike and Kylo Ren..... in different characters. I suspect they enjoyed making the film more than we enjoyed watching it.
That said, I have seen much much worse this year so if you have some spare time, chill out and watch some nonsense.

The first one was great. The second passable... this one is terrible....
It felt like little was put into the story and therefore I can only imagine it was created as cynical means of creating cash for the studio and actors.
I wasn't expecting to enjoy this and I don't really want to give it four stars but I had some real laugh out moments when watching this.
Not the sort of movie you watch with granny but if you enjoyed Road Trip or anything similar you should enjoy this.
Yes I had to watch it as I have watched the others but outside of a different bad guy and the gradual move of humanity to lose their ability to talk (remember the Chalton Heston movies... humans couldn't speak), it adds very little to the story.
Yes lots of CGI but a very entertaining movie with a story line that could be replayed as we bulldoze the Amazon forests...
