I'm finding it difficult to believe that this film was made in 2017. A culmination of bad script, poor direction and mediocre special effects placed it in the late 70s, early 80s. I fast forwarded just to see if got any better but if anything, it was even more disappointing. There are some talented actors in it but for most, it showed their lack of artistry. I watched an episode of GOT instead which displayed all the elements this film is sadly lacking. However if low budget, hammy films are your thing, go for it and leave a review about the whole film, something which I'm not able to do.
A warm, funny film whose characters you'll like ... even the baddies are human. Some of the events in the film seem absurd but the quality of acting makes you accept the storyline. The film's pace is easy going and makes it a pleasure to watch. I've meant to watch this film for years and am so glad I finally got around to it.
If only school lessons had been this good. With a mixture of, facts interestingly delivered by Dan Snow and various experts, translations from historical texts, all brought to life with brilliantly reenacted scenes, this is a very entertaining dvd.
Even though you know the eventual outcome, it's worth watching.
