Good bio about a top man if a slightly overrated manager. Let’s get this straight we were pretty ropey in 86 including the hand of god debacle. 1990 we rode our luck. Having said that he seems to have been universally loved and this film proves why. An extremely brave and likeable man. Could have done with a few amusing stories of which there are many ,nonetheless watch it, you won’t regret it.
Disappointing considering the directors previous film the excellent Bone Tomahawk. Vince Vaughn is very good but there’s not enough back story or depth to excuse the gratuitous violence. Lots of style especially at the beginning, and some hip dialogue but ultimately who cares
The first half is hard to like ,it’s like a pop video.People you don’t care about in situations beyond belief. Then there is one of the greatest action sequences ever and I’m won over (one take apparently). Charlize is class but I’ve still only seen her in one good film ( Young Adult)
Black comedy is something to admire when it works. Although I would recommend this film I didn’t think it was quite funny enough. The dialogue and especially the acting are top class (especially Russell Beale ) but it left me a bit cold. A film to certainly admire but not to love
Nothing more involving than a miscarriage of justice. Hard to believe this went to court let alone condemning an innocent man . The real killer has that dead behind the eyes look which is always unsettling. Rather it was more than mainly talking heads but I suppose this was an early version of its kind. A minor quibble about a very good film
Disappointing sequel to one of the best films I’ve seen in 30 years. The acting, directing are spot on as you would expect but at no time did I feel any improvement on the first film. In fact the highlights are when the original film is referred to. Probably if this was a stand alone film I’d have given a slightly better mark but comparisons are impossible to avoid.
Not very original at all. Although presumably it’s meant to be claustrophobic, it could have been opened out a bit more. Nobody to empathise with Or root for. Perfunctory but no more
Just about recommend this. Not particularly original but it is pacey and efficiently made. Fine acting generally especially jamie Lannister but you could try something better such as the mighty tv series Oz or A Prophet.
Started unevenly but perseverance paid dividends .songs aren’t particularly memorable but it succeeds because of the two likeable leads .ultimately I found it quite moving
