Filmed against all odds (weather, polar bears) in remote Svalbard, this has the atmosphere of a grisly fable, with a gruesome and heart-rending ending. It was inspired by the compelling short story of the same name by Sara Maitland. All three actors are superb and it really brings home the loneliness of living in the Arctic waste. Some great shots of Svalbard's extraordinary scenery too. This film seems to have disappeared without trace, which is a pity... it is unusual and intriguing.
