Glass

Good, but not great

(Edit) 26/09/2019

Basically a re-hash of Split and Unbreakable (with many flashbacks of both..) where the two stories collide and end with a typical Shyamalan-esque twist. Nicely done on the whole but nothing new and quite slow-paced, especially compared to the excellent Split. All the leads do a good job but it lacked anything new for me.

Baby Driver

Excellent

(Edit) 26/09/2019

Superb action thriller. All the leads are outstanding, and the story is punchy, suspenseful and throughly well-written. You'll find yourself rooting for the hear all the way! The sound track is epic!

Marjorie Prime

Boring

(Edit) 26/09/2019

I gave up after a few minutes, sadly! Lacks any real grip and the characters are dull. Shame, because it looks like it could be an interesting premise.

The Babadook

Interesting and spooky horror

(Edit) 26/09/2019

Works through quite familiar tropes, but has a fun and interesting way of presenting its scares and twists. Leads are excellent and the growing sense of dread is palpable throughout. Well-crafted and directed. Enjoyable and worth a look.

Downsizing

Quirky and fun

(Edit) 26/09/2019

An interesting premise but doesn't quite deliver... Matt Damon is enjoyable as a deeply frustrated soul who fails to find satisfaction through miniaturisation when his spouse deserts him. There are some charming and quirky touches, but ultimately the movie feels a little limited in scope and the fanciful ending fails to give any real closure.

It Comes at Night

Disappointing

(Edit) 23/10/2018

This film has some genuine moments of tension but it's too slow and never really delivers on its premise.

Don't be fooled by the title; the only thing that comes at night is boredom...
