When I first staring watching this film I began to get angrey at the racism and nearly turn off ,but kept watching it summed up the inborn racism that existed in certain states in America , but I stayed with it and turned out to be one off the best films I’ve watch for a long time , it’s a film that everyone should watch , and see what these black intelligent ladies achieved against all odds, and not a word was ever mentioned in NASA history of their role in it . I thoroughly enjoyed it and was cheering for them at the end ,and I’m a white woman who being just a woman can cause prejudiced .
I love Tom Hanks and his a brilliant actor and watch all his movies but the theme of the film was not for me couldn’t get in the story .
This was a bit of American history that should have been told ,I remember the Vietnam War and the protest all over American and the World at the loss of life ,for no good reason except that pulling out made the politician and the American government looseface to the rest of the world , and because of this a Vietnam soldier were pilloried by their own people when they came home, Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep played these parts so well portraying people who up held the rights of free speech
Tom Hanks done this man Sully proud ,and now I understand why Captain “Sully” is considered a hero by aviators and the public. My Son who lives in the States does a lot of flying ,sings his praises , after 9/11 this film restored confidence in the American flying public , it was riveting no other actor could have told such a story
I don’t usual watch sci fi , but found this one intriguing. And rather spellbinding , first time I ever loved the monster , it was beautifully done , though it was far fetched I throughly enjoyed and I’m 82 and didn’t find it creepy not as bad as some I’ve seen in the 50s and 60s . Made a change from some of the real violent movies around .
