I really tried to get into this film but it was far too depressing. Even though I understand how bad mental health problems can be I still found it too hard to deal with. Not one to watch in lockdown when you may already feel a bit low.

I loved this film, I wasnt expecting it to be this good. The character of the lead role is very likeable and he is also very funny with his dark humour.

It is thought provoking without being over sentimental. It is a long film but I didnt feel like it dragged and found myself

thinking about it the next day which led to me writing this review.

I wanted to write to review to warn people that this film has child abuse issues in it, there was no description of this provided so I had no way of knowing. I stopped watching it not long into the film as it was depressing and upsetting. I can not understand the good review this has been given. The description is quite misleading, I pictured it mostly set in the stock exchange.

I wanted to write this because I had to stop reading the book 3 quarters way through and thought I would see if the film was better. It really wasnt, very strange and unbelievable plot and I gave up watching half way through. The idea was good but it just jumped about too much for my liking.

I loved this film, its not for people who like the Hollywood Blockbuster type films, but if you like bit different and quirky you should like this. the central character Paterson is such a gentle, kind caring man and his wife is so funny. the dog has great role too! One reviewer said about the poetry not being good, its not meant to be, its just part of the story and shows Patersons character even more. I must admit when it first starts I was a bit worried I had made a bad choice but after ten minutes I got into it and understood the style. I even watched the extras on the dvd and I never do that. One of those films that stays with you

As you can see from the title, really didnt enjoy this film. I was curious after all the hype but not for me. I just felt so sorry for the main character all the way through and no happy ending.
