Welcome to KH's film reviews page. KH has written 4 reviews and rated 469 films.
I do not know how this film earned 3.5 stars, giving it 1 is being generous.
It looks as though it was made shooting a re-enactment group not a film crew making a movie. The acting if you could call it that is poor and the actual choreography and fight scenes are a joke.
This is definitely one to miss, the best thing about it is the graphic on the cover display, you will never see anything as good in the film itself.
Although none of the original characters are actually in this follow up movie, there are continuous references and some scenes using the old park and ruins within the confines of the island, so it all fits together pretty well. It won't win any awards, and the CGI quality although again very good is not quite as polished as some I have seen, but this is still a worthy sequel to the franchise and will certainly keep the kids happy ( there are a few more people being eaten in this one so bear in mind for younger children ).
This movie is right up there with Disney's John Carter.
It is very confusing trying to work out what is going on when you first watch it, and only after you know what it is about and watch it again do you begin to enjoy a decent sci. fi movie.
It's failing, like John Carter is that it is aimed at young kids (rated 12 ) and they will have no idea what is going on and most probably will have lost interest within 15 - 20 mins.
I thought, for some strange reason this was some kind of follow up to the Jurassic Park movies. My bad. What it really is, unfortunately, is yet another feeble attempt to create a movie out of camcorder footage. Blair Witch has an awful lot to answer for.
The acting is pitiful as is the strange models used as dinosaurs. It looks like it was filmed in some local woodland with a few trips to a zoological garden thrown in.
I gave up on any attempt to actually watch the movie right through once I realised it was all third party camcorder footage, and proceeded to fast forward to various points throughout the length of the film. It is all the same and doesn't get any better.
Do yourselves a big favour and leave this well alone, definitely one for the bin.
