Quite a well made series but the plot strays so far from recorded history that it ends up becoming rather naff.

Interesting account of a miraculous escape with plane manufacturer trying to pin the blame on Human i.e. pilot error.

Tom Hanks is very convincing

Dustin Hoffman looks a bit out of place but otherwise the ensemble cast gives a reasonable stab at Florence in the Middle Ages. Historically it seems fairly accurate and they have done a good job in representing medieval Florence, the Duomo without the dome etc. Also interesting to see the nobles looking down their noses at the nouveau riche Medici clan.

Brilliant film about the fragile state of our ecosystem and the dangers it faces from man's activities. A must-see.

I am a great fan of world cinema but this is pretty dire. Some good dialogue at times but needed a good edit and new scriptwriter. Ends bleakly with no clear idea of where the film was going. Give it a miss IMHO

Fabulous story, beautifully filmed and acted. Emotionally moving script that felt authentic. The move of refugees from the frying pan into the fire. Brilliant.
