The sound quality is good and it is one of those dark slow menacing films. I thought I would not enjoy it but I got interested and enjoyed it. Although at the end I was left thinking what actually happened. It's different to the slash and gore fests and has an interesting storyline. The characters are odd balls and the film keeps you guessing as to where it is actually going. Worth a watch.

Very atmospheric film of life in the north many years ago. It portrayed the stark life that was lived. The characters were good, some cruel and mean, others dumb and others just plain frustrated. It was an interesting slant on Macbeth and I enjoyed it. It is a slow burning film and more real than many other historical portrayals of life at that time.

This could have been such a brilliant film. The subject matter is a story that deserves to be told. This film however is a miserable attempt. The acting is wooden top and the characters are s dull that it's hard to care what happens to any of them. It has a budget film quality and really is a bit of a disgrace when the story deserved more.

Extremely interesting film. It was an eye opener for me and makes one think - certainly many people should be ashamed of themselves. James Baldwin has a velvet voice that I could listen to for ever. It is a poignant documentary that teaches positive humanity. It has, as expected, a lovely music score and is a film I would recommend.

At first I thought this may be a little boring but it picks up and is quite raw. My only complaint 9and its a small one) would be that I found it hard to distinguish the different fractions that were involved. So at times I was a little confused as to who was arguing with who. That said, it is well made and the claustrophobic nature of the film is well portrayed. There are many personalities and the actors do a fine job. All in all a good film.

Just boring from start off. The characters were just so uninteresting that I did not care about any of hem. It could have been a good film but it isn't.

This film was very hyped and at the time was sorry to have missed it in the cinema. Having now watched it I can say that I am please I did miss it in the cinema. It's not a bad film and there is tension and an under lying sense of evil but I just thought the racial thing was un-needed. The acting was fine and a little bit of humour is thrown in for good measure. It was an ok movie and better than many others of its genre.

One of those movies where when one of the cast die horribly you don't really care! This films seems quite dated although the special effects are quite good. Sadly, the characters have no character and are just annoying stereotypes. I was please when some of them met their grisly end.

Thought at first I would not like this film but it grows on you. It is quiet and moody. There is really only one person in the film and some animals. but it is never boring. The storyline is actually quite horrific and there are lots of unanswered questions in the film. It is beautifully shot and has a serenity about it. I became enthralled in it and her situation.

Enjoyed this background film about cage fighting. It would mainly appeal to those with an interest in the sport but there are some interesting people fighting in this business and it is not for the faint hearted.

Thought I would find this very hard to watch because I am a dog lover but it was bearable. Two beautiful dogs played the lead and the trainers did a fabulous job with them. It is a dreary film and atmospheric of the time and place. The story line is believable and the actors are all very professional and likable (except for the baddies). For me, it had a rather abrupt ending but goodness prevailed. I would recommend this film but be prepared to wince a little.

Loved this film. It's sensual, gentle l and provocative. Very erotic without being sleazy. I enjoyed the storyline and it is beautifully shot. A love story with a difference.

Really enjoyed this film. It is a strange storyline that may not appeal to all but the acting of all the cast is just quality. It's atmospheric and edgy. Interesting characters. I found myself think what an odd little film it was but it actually lasted for 2 hours and went very quick - a sign of a good film. Huppert is just wonderful.

Loved this film. Good acting and very moody. It has a nasty plot and some of the subject matter is hard to contemplate. All in all the acting is great, the subtitles work well and I was glued to the screen from start to finish.
