A moving film about how four innocent people managed to survive the Nazi terrors. The
only criticism is the white subtitles were unreadable when over a white background. (And we do not speak German)
Occasional speech unable to be heard and no subtitles, otherwise well worth watching. I would like to know how much these "based on" films differ from reality.
I thought this an unmissable film on another aspect of the war and the brutality of the Nazis. Well acted but my only criticism was the sound, and my hearing is good. Some speech was hard to follow and there are no subtitles.
About someone few will have heard of, but deserves to be known. The synopsis gives the details, but overall the film is excellently produced and acted and leaves us wondering what else goes on behind the scenes. The criticsm of foul language by another reviewer could apply to many TV programmes as well as films, and no doubt reflects real life - get used to it.
We found the pace a little slow, but good cinematography. Recommend reading the director's statement first.
For anyone who likes factual films this is one not to miss. Well made in all respects, acting, cinematography, script etc. and interesting extra.
This is a very original and clever script which keeps you in suspense. Very good actors. For us, well worth seeing.
