Ferenc Török co-writes and directs this Hungarian drama set in rural Hungary in the aftermath of World War II. With the defeated Nazis driven out and the liberating Soviet forces still around, the residents of a small Hungarian village attempt to get back to some form of normality as they prepare to celebrate the wedding of the local clerk's son. However, the atmosphere changes when two Orthodox Jews, having survived the Holocaust, arrive by train and make their way into town. Having divided up the possessions of the previous Jewish residents during the war, some villagers are wracked with guilt and tensions soon begin to rise as the locals speculate about the intentions of the mysterious travellers.
