Synopsis:
It was the warmest August Bank Holiday weekend on record and the Warrington Wolves were red hot as they claimed the Coral Challenge Cup with a sizzling victory against St Helens. The Duke of Sussex gave the 2019 Final the Royal Seal of Approval, but with the Wolves' star stand-off Blake Austin out injured, very few gave The Wire a chance of beating the runaway Super League leaders. But Steve Price's perfect game-plan, and some heroic performances all over the Wembley turf meant the famous old trophy was dressed in primrose and blue at full-time. There were moments of Warrington magic at both ends of the field, not least from the man-of-the-match Daryl Clark, whose terrific late tackle on Regan Grace, coupled with a crucial try, saw him become only the third hooker in history to claim the Lance Todd Trophy.
