Synopsis:
This documentary film, in colour and black and white, shows Berlin preparing itself for Adolf Hitler's 50th Birthday parade in 1939. Several excerpts were taken by members of the public and have been built into this film creating a very important documentation of the events. The largest ever Military Parade in the history of the German Army can almost be completely reconstructed because of the many positions in which the films were taken. For four and a half hours the German Military Forces marched over the East-West axis in review past the tribune in which Adolf Hitler stood. The Wehrmacht showed itself to the World in an impressive and seemingly endless column, if the troops had been put together in a row they would have reached a length of almost 100 kilometres.
