Walt becomes more and more manipulative and ruthless... Great stuff! - Breaking Bad: Series 4 review by RP
Season 4 of 'Breaking Bad' is darker, more violent than Season 3. Walter White makes yet more bad choices and gets into ever-deeper waters as he battles for independence from the implacable Gus Fring.
Gus demonstrates very, very clearly that he is a ruthless operator and tries to squeeze Walt out of the methamphetamine business as he attempts - and almost succeeds - in driving a wedge between Walt and Jesse. The DEA - more accurately, Walt's brother, Hank - figures out much of Gus's drug manufacturing and distribution business, Gus crosses swords with the Mexican drug cartel but comes out on top. Walt's wife, Skyler, is now in on the money laundering side of the business but begins to realise just what acts Walt is capable of.
Walt becomes more and more manipulative and ruthless in his own right, Gus gets his comeuppance and Walt is at last on top - or is he...
Yet more great, unmissable TV. 5/5 stars.

Amazing... - Breaking Bad: Series 4 review by PT
Absolutely amazing series.. I could quite easily watch this series over and over again, pardon the pun, but it's highly addictive

5 stars but not the perfection of series 1 and 2. - Breaking Bad: Series 4 review by PV
Breaking Bad is still GREAT classic TV drama - WAY better than ANYTHING on the 'diverse' and soapy BBC or UK TV. The characters, ideas, visual flair, script, music - when they get it right, BOY do they get it right!
However, even though I am enjoying series 4, it's all become too soapy for my tastes - that happened in series 3 too when the baby and divorce became central, and family issues.
So not AS good as the PERFECT first series or the near perfect second series - but wonderful nevertheless.
Why can't the BBC or UK TV channels make great exciting drama like this? Maybe coz their obsession is female-friendly dramas that get ratings or tick diversity boxes?
Well done to all involved in the Breaking Bad series. I came to it late but know classic TV when I see it.
So looking forward to the last series just to hear Swansea band BADFINGER sing BABY BLUE.
