According to Daniel Cotton (Philip Glenister), there three battles that shape our lives: nature versus nurture; free will versus destiny; and City versus United. But his life is about to change forever. Saturday 15th June 1996, an ordinary day in Manchester. England are preparing to play Scotland in the Euros. Daniel has brought together his adoptive brother Robbo (Steven Mackintosh) and father Samuel (Bernard Hill) in the hope of healing a family rift, when they are caught up in a massive terrorist attack and from this moment Daniel's life will never be the same again. All-star cast gives this story credibility - From There to Here review by ChrisB
I think the storyline would have been less believable were it not for the brilliant acting of each member of the cast. Phil Glenister, in particular, shines as the rather dour husband, son and father. You'd think he'd have enough to contend with with his own, somewhat flawed, family (not forgetting another who makes an appearance later on); but, no, he decides to complicate his life in the most infuriating way.
A very enjoyable watch nonetheless.
