Stephen Dillane plays Jakob Beer, a man whose life is haunted by his childhood experiences during WWII. As a child in Poland he is orphaned during wartime then saved by a compassionate Greek archaeologist. Moving - Fugitive Pieces review by NG
I read the book many years ago and found the film to be very true to the poetic prose of the original author Anne michaels.
It is so moving to watch how hard it is to leave the past when the past is with us during every moment of out lives. A great tale of love of friends, family, lovers and of the inability to forget.

Very Interesting - Fugitive Pieces review by Cato
A good film, with a plot which goes from evil to good, although the evil remains in the main character's life till the end, in that memory records your childhood more than everything else The film gets some middling reviews in some cases, especially for Stephen Dillane, who I think gives a very good performance, albeit quiet and reflective.
