Synopsis:
In 12th century England the handsome and noble knight, George (James Purefoy), has left the Crusades behind to follow his dream of a peaceful life on his own piece of land. He leaves his friend Tarik (Michael Clarke Duncan) on the shores of France and joins Garth de Guerney (Patrick Swayze) in the search for the Princess Lunna (Piper Perabo) and is immediately drawn into battle. Lunna is found, not kidnapped but guarding a dragon's egg and a battle of wills erupts between George and Lunna over the fate of the egg. George wishes to destroy it, a view shared by Mother Superior (Joan Plowright) and Lunna wants to save it assisted by her trusty servant Elmendorf (Bill Treacher).
Meanwhile, a group of mercenaries also joined the search. Garth becomes enraged by Lunna's reluctance to marry him so he kidnaps her and plots to take the throne. A final battle erupts between George, Garth, the pursuing mercenaries and townsfolk loyal to the King (Simon Callow). In the battle George must decide who is friend and who is foe, rescue the Princess and confront the Dragon. From the rubble George emerges holding a bloodstained spear and the legend of 'St George the Dragon Slayer' is born.

Kids (9 and 10) really really loved it - George and the Dragon review by Karrie

Spoiler Alert
18/09/2013

Kids thought this was a real swashbuckling adventure. Loads of knights, peasants, celts, a feisty princess and a big dragon. "Funny, silly, cool, a little scary!"

Lacking a little interest/comedy factor for the adults, but still an enjoyable film.
