Synopsis:
What should have been a trip to remember, quickly turns to a living nightmare when five passengers oh a seaplane are stranded on a raft in the middle of the ocean. What follows is a desperate bid for survival as the group try to make it to land before they are taken by the man-eating sharks lurking just beneath the surface. In the vein of 47 Meters Down and The Shallows, GREAT WHITE plays with our primal fear of the deep and the terrifying predators lurking within.

B-Movie Shark Film with 2-D characters and some Clunky CGI - Great White review by PV

Spoiler Alert
13/08/2022

I was hoping this film wold be better. Instead, it seems to think creating some exotic Japanese backstory of a couple of characters will compensate for the two-dimensional cartoon characters which proliferate. It doesn't.

Sure, some tense nail-biting moments - the usual really for a shark movie.

Jaws is still the bar to reach re Shark films though The Reef (2010) covers the same territory as Great White with more believable characters and events (and based on a true story). Open Water is also great. The Shallows is passable and 47 Metres Down forgettable nonsense.

Disappointing, so 2 stars.

Ok shark movie - Great White review by TH

Spoiler Alert

So many shark films I have seen over the years. Jaws and Deep Blue Sea for me are the top ones.

This is actually fairly decent for a low budget shark movie. The kills arent overly graphic which is nice to see and some of the cgi is good compared to the over the top hollywood cgi.

The biggest issue is undeveloped characters.

Overall worth a one time watch.

Another Shark Attack Film!!! - Great White review by GI

Spoiler Alert
12/10/2022

A routine shark stalking film that offers nothing new. It's really the same ol' narrative of stranded, beautiful people being hunted by aggressive great white sharks (there's a couple on the prowl here), you'll guess which characters (five in this case) will get eaten first and who will end up surviving. A young couple run a small, financially struggling, seaplane tourist company, are hired by a rich couple to go to a remote atoll for the day. The plane is attacked by a shark!!! It sinks and they are on a life raft as the sharks circle..... endlessly!!! Even the first sequel to Jaws was better than this, indeed there are some similarities to Jaws 2 (1978), but really not since the original and brilliant Jaws (1975) has this type of film excelled. You have to go in a different direction if shark attack stories are going to compete and compare well, Deep Blue Sea (1999) or even The Shallows (2016) for example. Don't get me wrong Great White has it's moments but they are nothing new and a little disappointing when they do come although the aerial shots are good. A mediocre film that isn't really worth the effort.
