Over the years, Anja (Andrea Bræin Hovig) and Tomas (Stellan Skarsgård) have slowly grown apart, their creative careers taking them in different directions and leaving their relationship distant. Though surrounded by her children and family, when Anja receives a life-changing diagnosis her life with Tomas begins to fracture, exposing years of neglected love. This is a truly wonderful film, 99.9% true to life. - Hope review by DW

Spoiler Alert

It's the enormously high level of realism that makes this such an enjoyable watch, what you see could happen to almost anyone. Not having seen too many Norwegian films, I don't know if any of the actors are of "celebrity" status but the adults gave outstanding performances which set a high bar for the younger performers who all gave great individual contributions to something very special.

(There's a short scene in a wedding dress shop that had me laughing out loud & I bet you will too).
