Synopsis:
Devastated by a failed hostage situation which resulted in the deaths of a young mother and her child, LAPD negotiator Jeff Talley (Bruce Willis) exits Los Angeles for a no profile job as chief of police in the low crime hamlet of Bristo Camino, a small town in Ventura County. When three delinquent teenagers follow home a family intending to steal their car, they have inadvertently picked the wrong house on the wrong day. The trio find themselves trapped in a multi-million dollar compound on the outskirts of town, owned by an accountant working for a mysterious crime enterprise.
Panicked, the teenagers take the family hostage, placing Talley in exactly the kind of situation he never wanted to face again. Soon after, Talley readily hands authority of the hostage situation over to the Ventura County Sheriffs Department and leaves the scene. Meanwhile, inside the compound is digital information, which is time sensitive and invaluable to the mysterious criminals and critical to their enterprise. They will stop at nothing to get what belongs to them. Talley is forced to resume the command he abandoned, where the stakes quickly evolve into a hostage situation far more volatile and terrifying than anything he could ever imagine.

Average Bruce Willis - Hostage review by Rob S

Spoiler Alert

This is OK but quite average really. It's a Bruce Willis film and as long as you approach it from that angle then it's quite enjoyable. There are some good moments and probably worth a rent but ultimately it's no Die Hard and is quite forgetable.

Bruce Willis back in the role he does so well - Hostage review by CP Customer

Spoiler Alert

But never before have I seen him act frightened until I saw this. But that didn't last long and then he was back to his usual best.

Pretty much the usual storm in / shoot the baddies / rescue the goodies type film, but plenty of action with the added twist of 24's 'family held hostage' scenario but recommended all the same for it's entertainment value.

Bruce Willis By Numbers - Hostage review by CP Customer

Spoiler Alert

What do you expect from Bruce Willis? Up to his old tricks (yet again) but for some of us that's enough. I've always found his films action packed and entertaining and this one's no different, in fact I'd say slightly better than some of his other movies. Go on add it to your rental list if you haven't already...
