- Filmed across three continents with stunning cinematography. 'Imperial Blue' drags the "white man in Africa" narrative kicking and screaming into the 21st century. American smuggler, Hugo Winter (Nicolas Fagerberg), travels to Uganda to find the source of Bulu, a mysterious shamanic drug with prophetic powers. After being robbed and beaten up in a downtown brothel. Hugo is rescued by two sisters who offer to help him, but they are both competing for his money. As they journey together deep into the forest, their uneasy alliance comes apart with horrifying consequences.

Not another drug user film! - Imperial Blue review by CP Customer
Is there anything cinematic interest to be had about an undisciplined, self obsessed, charmless drug user? Good to see Africans getting acting roles and the cinematograph has its (not too frequent ) moments. The story is weak, the dialogue lacks any attention engagement. Nothing to recommend here.

This must have been a college project, we could not finish this one...recommend that you do not start it.

Terrible Script - Lovely Sound and Visuals - Imperial Blue review by F15HF1NG3RZ
Starring possibly one of the most unlikable protagonists in any film of all time - As another review said he was a drug user and low level dealer - So he's not exactly a hero, but he's either being an angry, unlikable moron or he's being a helpless, unlikable selfish junkie! The film frequently looks beautiful, the music is really good too, but the script, pacing and the acting from the main lead is absolutely terrible. Recommended to watch on mute and keep it on in the background for some lovely cinematography.
