- This is the intention of the ambitious young Doctor Lydgate as he takes up his position at Middlemarch's new hospital. A long remember favourite BBC programme - Middlemarch review by MR
Truly excellent. Juliet Aubrey is sublime. I always thought that Robert Hardy was rather hammy but he is just right in this. Some fine scenery too. I look forward to later episodes.
