VISUALLY, ONE OF MY FAVOURITES - Renaissance review by JF

Spoiler Alert
30/11/2017

I first saw this film some years ago, and was fascinated by it, and so wanted to see it again. Black and white, crisp and dramatic visuals, it uses a motion capture technique to end up like a highly sophisticated 'bande dessinee'. As it is set in Paris, that seems appropriate. The plot is pretty obscure, and even this second time round, I never completely understood it. But I don't care - I still loved it!

Clever animation, unoriginal story - Renaissance review by CP Customer

Spoiler Alert
18/03/2007

The graphics/animation are superb and cleverly done. Unfortunately it drags as the action is not quick enough. There are time lapses in the dialogue which makes it sound like you are listening to a satellite link up. The plot offers nothing new.
