Synopsis:
Narrated by Liam Neeson, 'Road' is the adrenalin fuelled tale of a family obsessed with motorcycle road racing. For two generations, the Dunlops have dominated this most dangerous of all motor sports, where competitors race at speeds of up to 200 miles per hour on roads lined with trees, stone walls and other immovable threats to safety. This unique documentary takes the viewer on a blistering emotional ride with its heroes Joey, Robert, William and Michael, experiencing with them the victories, crashes and the extraordinary highs and lows of life as a road racer.
United by success, united by tragedy, united by the road itself, this is an amazing and inspirational true story of sporting triumph and sacrifice.

Nerves of steel - Road review by TJ

Spoiler Alert

I love Moto GP, I know this is about road racing but I've a point to make… anyway always wondeted how these riders break legs abd collarbones and are back on the bike within 2 weeks. After watching the all consuming caurage of the Dunlop family you can begin to appreciate that this has been the way of motorcycle sport for many years.

Whilst I appreciate the sport from afar this film does a far better job of showing road racing and the famous TT for what it really is, than Closer to the Edge could ever do.

When the rubber meets the Road. - Road review by CP Customer

I attended the premier of this movie. If you are a fan of motorcycle racing then this is a must see. If you are not a fan of motorcycle racing then this is a must see. This movie tries to explain the love of motorcycle road racing from the view point of the most famous family in Irish road racing - The Dunlops. It touches the highs and lows that the sport brings. The film can be difficult to watch in places as the sport can be a cruel one. Ultimately the sport can never be explained in logical terms, but this movie gives a great insight to the emotional connection that the riders, families and fans understand. It touches all levels. Where will you be when the rubber meets the road?
